settling in

Today is day 9 in London. The homesickness still exists but has significantly decreased. The Departed is on TV tonight so that helps a bit. I had my most successful grocery shop today. Got a bunch of different meats and vegetables. I figured I’d actually start cooking and getting creative in the kitchen. I’m getting to realize that this is really a chance for a whole new start. In a lot of ways. Slowly but surely I’m starting to feel at home. Time to fully embrace the new beginnings. Below are words to a song a wrote almost two years ago. They make so much sense now…

I’m walking through fire but nothing’s burning
I’m walking on water but nothing’s wet
I thought I’d be melting away to nothing
But the bottoms of my feet are dry

I’ve got to trust in myself
I’ve got to believe that what I have is enough

So I’m treading lightly down this long and winding road
Each bump a journey to rediscover myself
I’m treading lightly down this long and winding road
Each step a journey to rediscover myself
